SHANGHAI, Aug. 15 (SMM) – SHFE 1710 zinc opened at RMB 24,080/mt today and then edged up to RMB 24,350/mt. With leaving of longs, SHFE 1710 zinc inched down to RMB 24,280/mt in the afternoon, and closed at RMB 24,260/mt, up RMB 195/mt or 0.81%. Trading volumes increased 34,516 to 529,000 lots, and positions increased 10,066 to 242,000. SHFE 1708 zinc was delivered today, with prices rising to RMB 24,500/mt after opening. Prices then advanced to RMB 24,740/mt, but fell back to RMB 24,550/mt later on, closing at RMB 24,545/mt, with settlement price of RMB 24,545/mt. Deliveries totaled 8,700 mt. Trading volumes decreased 4,120 to 2,160 lots, and positions decreased 660 to 3,480.
