SHFE October zinc reached 24,820 yuan per tonne as longs rushed to the market. Supply and demand reason continues to bolster zinc, SMM added.

All Lead-Zinc Mines in Two Regions of Gansu Shut down after Sichuan 7-Magnitude Earthquake, SMM Reports

A 7-magnitude earthquake shook Jiuzhaigou County, Aba prefecture, Sichuan Province at 9:19 pm August 8. After the quake, all lead-zinc mines in Gansu’s Longnan City were forced to shut down.
