SHFE 1704 zinc opened at RMB 22,930/mt and dipped to RMB 22,705/mt in the afternoon, closing at RMB 22,780/mt, up RMB 5/mt or 0.02%.

SHANGHAI, Feb. 27 (SMM) – SHFE 1704 zinc opened at RMB 22,930/mt and dipped to RMB 22,705/mt in the afternoon, closing at RMB 22,780/mt, up RMB 5/mt or 0.02%.

Trading volumes on SHFE 1704 zinc increased 24,000 to 560,000, and positions decreased 8,202 to 158,000. Positions on SHFE 1705 zinc grew 5442 to 142,000. Downstream purchases increased as zinc prices fell. But cargo holders stepped up supplies against cash tightness, adding to supplies and weighing on zinc.
