SHANGHAI, Sept. 9 (SMM) -Zijin Mining’s zinc concentrate output increased 48.34% year-on-year to 68,891 tonnes (zinc content) in the first half of 2015; lead concentrate output grew 96.27% year-on-year to 10,008 tonnes (lead content), according to the company’s mid-year report.
The company’s zinc concentrate output at its Wuqia Jinwang Mining jumped 87.38% year-on-year to 32,630 tonnes in H1, which put its build-out into production in February. Zinc concentrate output at its mines in Urat Rear Banner was 29,536 tonnes, up 40.06% year-on-year. Its Ashele copper mine produced 5,595 tonnes of zinc concentrate in H1, down 15.14% year-on-year. Total zinc concentrate output from Zijin Group’s other mines was down 16% year-on-year to 1,130 tonnes.
The company set its output target of zinc and lead concentrate at 210,000 tonnes in 2015, up 95.79% year-on-year, compared to 107,256 tonnes in 2014.
