CSB Battery to Build Lead-Acid Battery Project in Hubei

SHANGHAI, Jul. 19 (SMM) – Taiwan-based lead-acid battery producer CSB Battery Technologies has entered into an agreement with the government of Hubei’s Gucheng County for investing RMB 400 million in a 10 million kvah/yr lead-acid battery project, Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) has learnt.
The project will be built in the economic development park of the county and mainly produce maintenance-free sealed lead-acid battery with large capacity.
CSB Battery is a joint venture established by CSB Group and Shin-Kobe Electric Machinery in 1987, and mainly engages in production of sealed lead-acid battery. Its products mainly serve UPS, communication base stations and electric vehicles. The company has established long-term relationship with Hubei Jinyang Metallurgy, and the proposal of Gucheng’s project is a result of several on-site surveys.
