Guangdong’s Dongguan to Raise Elimination Standards for Inefficient Lead-acid Battery Capacity

Guangdong’s Environmental Protection Department formulated the 13th 5-year Plan for Prevention and Control of Heavy Metal Pollution. 

SHANGHAI, Aug. 7 (SMM) – Guangdong’s Environmental Protection Department formulated the 13th 5-year Plan for Prevention and Control of Heavy Metal Pollution. 

In accordance with the Plan, increase and elimination of heavy metals capacities, mainly lead, mercury, cadmium, chrome, and metalloids, such as arsenic, will be replaced at equivalent or lower amounts, and will also raise elimination standards for inefficient lead-acid battery capacities.

By the end of 2018, the electroplating and leather-making industries will realize clean production.
