Some 10,000 mt of high-grade nickel pig iron (NPI) output, in physical content, will be affected per month as a medium-sized plant in north-east China plans to undertake maintenance

SHANGHAI, May 23 (SMM) – Some 10,000 mt of high-grade nickel pig iron (NPI) output, in physical content, will be affected per month as a medium-sized plant in north-east China plans to undertake maintenance at the end of May, SMM surveyed.

Maintenance, expected to last for a little over a month, will target the plant's blast furnaces that are near the end of their utility period.

Affected output, in metal content, will be 1,200 mt per month. This accounts for some 3% of China's monthly output of high-grade NPI, in metal content.
