The subsidy policy of new-energy vehicles is likely to be tightened, according to Lu Huaping, assistant secretary-general of China Passenger Car Association, Caixin Media reported.
As the government researched on national subsidy policy in 2018, it looks to support new-energy car models with high mileage and low energy consumption. Meanwhile, cancellation of local subsidy is of great possibility.
Beijing City is likely to take the lead in cancelling local subsidy in 2018, Caixin cited a source close to the situation. Although Niu Jinming, director of Beijing New-energy Vehicles Promotion Center, claimed he had no knowledge on this matter.
