China’s subsidies for new-energy vehicles would be cut down gradually through to 2020, according to minister of Industry and Information Technology.

China’s subsidies for new-energy vehicles would be cut down gradually through to 2020 so that the industry could operate in a smooth transition period, minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei was quoted as saying in local media reports.

Miao pointed out that the country would build a unified market for new-energy vehicles where local protectionism will be eliminated. The government would also guide local subsidies to support the development of charging facilities instead of car purchases.
