Report: Sales of new-energy vehicles in Feb up 95.2% year on year

Sales of new-energy vehicles in China surged 95.2% year on year and stood at 34,000 in February, according to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

SHANGHAI, Mar 15 (SMM) – Sales of new-energy vehicles in China surged 95.2% year on year and stood at 34,000 in February, according to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Production of new-energy vehicles rose 119.1% year on year and stood at 39,000.

For the first two months of the year, production and sale increased 168.4% and 164.3% on a yearly basis, and stood at 82,000 and 75,000 respectively.

The Chinese New Year holiday affected production and sales of automobiles in February. Production fell 20.8% on a yearly basis and sales fell 36.6% on a monthly basis. Sales declined 11.1% year on year and 38.9% month on month.
