Asian crude steel production rose marginally in September

According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Asia climbed higher by 0.9% during the month of September year-on-year.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by Asia climbed higher by 0.9% during the month of September year-on-year.

The total crude steel production by China during September was 67.540 Million tonnes, remaining flat when compared with the production during September 2013. India produced 6.846 Million tonnes of crude steel, up 2.5% when compared to 6.677 Million tonnes production achieved during September 2013.

Japan reported marginal decline in monthly crude steel output during September. Japan's crude steel output dropped from 9.289 Million tonnes in September 2013 to 9.244 Million tonnes in the same month this year.

South Korean crude steel production was up considerably by 10.1% during September from 5.171 Million tonnes in September 2013 to 5.695 Million tonnes in September this year.

The Taiwanese September steel output edged higher by 12.5% to 1.880 Million tonnes from 1.672 Million tonnes during same month last year.

The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the first nine months in 2014 in comparison with those during same period in 2013.
