SMM November 20 News:
Highlights: In October 2025, China's total phosphate ore imports continued to increase MoM, rising 22.9% to 200,000 mt, while the total import value grew 18.4%. The comprehensive national import average price fell 3.6% MoM.

In October 2025, China's phosphate ore imports increased from 163,000 mt in September to 200,000 mt, up 22.9% MoM. The import value rose 18.4% MoM from $14.172 million to $16.784 million. Egypt was the largest source country, accounting for nearly 60% of China's total imports, while Jordan accounted for 40%. Exports dropped to nearly zero from 15,000 mt in September, in line with the cyclical off-season pattern for exports. Regarding phosphoric acid,Major Exports Are as Follows。

I. Phosphate Ore Import and Export: Imports Increased MoM, Exports Nearly Zero

1. Phosphate Ore Imports: China's traditional major phosphate ore import sources are Egypt, Peru, and Jordan, with main importing provinces including Guangxi, Hubei, etc., and major importing enterprises being coastal phosphorus chemical companies such as Sichuan Jinlang. The main import sources in October remained the same as in September: Egypt and Jordan. Almost all imports were to Guangxi, accounting for over 90%.

Hubei and Yunnan, two major phosphate ore importing provinces, along with other regions, recorded minimal imports in October. Guangxi's imports surged 219.3% MoM to 188,000 mt from 59,000 mt in September.

October's phosphate ore imports showed a pattern of volume increase and price decrease, with unit prices declining across all source countries. Total import volume rose 22.9% to 200,000 mt, while the unit price fell 3.6% to $84/mt.

Egypt: The largest supplier, with imports increasing 13.1% MoM from 102,000 mt in September to 116,000 mt, accounting for over 50% of total September imports. The price dropped 1.9% to $83.2/mt from $84.8/mt in September.
Peru: As the largest supplier in July (49,000 mt), imports remained zero for three consecutive months from August to October.
Jordan: Imports rebounded to 54,000 mt in September, matching July levels, then surged 49.4% to 81,000 mt in October. The unit price also fell 6.8%.

2. Phosphate Ore Export Situation

National phosphate ore exports recorded three consecutive months of growth in National phosphate ore exports saw three consecutive increases: 10,600 mt in July, 11,000 mt in August, and 15,000 mt in September, but dropped to less than 1 mt in October. The decline aligns with historical cyclical trends.

II. Phosphoric Acid Import and Export: Mainly Exports, Minimal Imports

Phosphoric acid exports increased 25.8% MoM from 23,000 mt in September to 29,000 mt in October. The unit price fell 2.1% from $1,025.5/mt to $1,003.5/mt.

China's main phosphoric acid export destinations include Indonesia, Japan and South Korea, etc.

In October, the primary export destination was Thailand, with exports surging 1,558.5% from 1,000 mt to 8,000 mt, accounting for 29% of total exports.
