Cobalt Price Review & Forecast

iconApr 14, 2024 15:05
Refined cobalt prices remained stable in the week ending April 11.

Refined cobalt

Refined cobalt prices remained stable in the week ending April 11. New capacity provided some supply relief. However, demand was sluggish during the traditionally strong months of March and April, with weak purchasing intentions leading to few transactions throughout the week. Consequently, the market showed limited buying interest and moderate activity, keeping spot prices unchanged. Looking ahead to the week ending April 19, the limited spot transactions may lead to a slight decline in spot prices.

Cobalt intermediate products

Cobalt intermediate products prices slightly decreased in the week ending April 11 due to high social inventory levels and increased market supplies. On the demand side, limited recent transactions and weakened purchasing sentiment have kept demand for cobalt intermediate products low. The market sentiment of "buying on the rise and not buying on the decline" is leading to intense price negotiations and limited transactions in cobalt refining products, putting pressure on raw material purchasing. Prices of cobalt intermediate products are expected to face slight downward pressure due to an abundance of supply.
