It is crucial for the company to sustain and even surpass performance expectation to maximize shareholder value from any potential acquisition deal coming up.

Sigma Lithium announces it has completed loading its sixth shipment of 22,000 tonnes of lithium spodumene concentrate to Glencore at the Port of Vitoria, Brazil. Glencore has prepaid 50% for the shipment at a premium price.

The spodumene concentrate is described as Sigma Lithium’s signature “Triple Zero Green Lithium” focusing strongly on sustainability, having no tailings, no hazardous chemicals, and no carbon footprint.

According to the company’s disclosure, Sigma Lithium started commissioning the crushing unit of the plant in December 2022, and shipped the first batch in July 2023, and had maintained the operating rates, reaching the production target of 130,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate in 2023.

Sigma Lithium’s current plant has an annualized nameplate capacity of producing 270,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate, or 37,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE), which could be expanded to 104,000 tonnes of LCE in 2024.

As Sigma Lithium is exploring acquisition proposals, it is crucial for the company to sustain and even surpass performance expectation, adding the synergy with the recent mineral resources update, to maximize shareholder value from any potential deal.
