SHANGHAI, Jun 20 (SMM) – The price monitoring center of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) published an article in the Economic Daily saying that rational and appropriate measures should be taken so as to further ensure China's power supply and avoid power rationing. First of all, relevant support policies must be introduced to increase the supply of coal in the market. China shall release domestic coal production capacity in a safe and orderly manner, and promote the increase in coal production and supply. Secondly, China will increase coal imports. Relevant measures should be introduced to support coal-fired power plants to generate more electricity. Thirdly, China must vigorously support the development of renewable energy such as wind power. Finally, local governments shall formulate plans for power consumption in an orderly manner.
