SHANGHAI, Jun 9(SMM) -

China's titanium dioxide output stood at 338,500 mt in May, down 0.4% MoM. The output totalled 1.6617 million mt in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 3.36%.

According to SMM research, the downstream demand for titanium dioxide was still low affected by the pandemic in May, but it was significantly improved compared to April this year.

The export of titanium dioxide was fair, which eased the insufficient demand in the domestic titanium dioxide market to a certain extent.

In June, as Shanghai lifted from the lockdown, the resumption of work and production across the country was progressing, but transportation was still restricted. SMM expects that domestic titanium dioxide output will rebound slightly to 350,000 mt in June.
