CAAM: Automobile output by 11 key Chinese automakers in early August rose 46.4% on year

In early August, automobile output by 11 key Chinese automakers stood at 1.11 million units, down 15.8% from early July, but up 46.4% from the same period last year, while sales came in at 939,000 units, down 0.3% month on month and 4.2% year on year, according to data from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

SHANGHAI, Aug 25 (SMM) — In early August, automobile output by 11 key Chinese automakers stood at 1.11 million units, down 15.8% from early July, but up 46.4% from the same period last year, while sales came in at 939,000 units, down 0.3% month on month and 4.2% year on year, according to data from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

 

Output of passenger vehicles stood at 934,000 units, falling 16.1% from early July, but was 39.9% higher than a year ago, while sales stood at 825,000 units, inching up 0.1% on the month, but down 7.9% on the year.

 

Production of commercial vehicles stood at 177,000 units, down 14.2% from a month ago, but jumping 88.2% from a year earlier, and sales came in at 114,000 units, down 2.7% on the month, but was 36.3% higher than a year ago.
