SMM5, 10 July: recently, Vale released its production and sales report for the first quarter of 2019, the company's 2019Q1 manganese ore production of 365000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 26.3%, a year-on-year decrease of 15.9%. Sales of manganese mines were 252000 tons, down 43 per cent from the previous month and 25.4 per cent from the same period last year.

As for iron ore, in the first quarter of 2019, the output of Vale iron ore powder was 72.9 million tons, down 28 per cent and 11 per cent respectively compared with the same period last month and compared with the same period last year. The main reasons are the follow-up effects of the Brumadi New Dam break event and the unusually strong seasonal climate factors. In the first quarter of 2019, Vale pellet production was 12.2 million tons, down 23 per cent and 5 per cent from the previous month and the same period last year, respectively. This was mainly due to the shutdown of some pelletizing plants after the Broomadi New Dam break incident and the planned maintenance of Tubalang and Oman pelletizing plants.
