Iron ore port inventory up 3%

Iron ore inventory at 35 Chinese ports amounted to 146.47 million mt as of Friday February 23, SMM data showed.

SHANGHAI, Feb 23 (SMM) – Iron ore inventory at 35 Chinese ports amounted to 146.47 million mt as of Friday February 23, SMM data showed. This is up 4.48 million mt from the level seen two weeks ago, before Chinese New Year.

Daily average volumes delivered from ports dropped significantly during the week-long holiday, to 1.78 million mt. This compared with 2.46 million mt recorded a fortnight ago.
