Baosteel to Expand Steel Production Capacity by 3.22 Million mt/year

SHANGHAI, Feb 9 (SMM) - Baosteel Desheng High-quality Stainless Steel Green Industry Base Project - Steel Capacity Replacement Project is located in Jin’gang Industrial Zone, Luoyuanwan Development Zone, Luoyuan County, Fuzhou City. 

According to the Approval of the Production Capacity Replacement Plan of Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Fujian Province, Baosteel Desheng has implemented the reconstruction and expansion through capacity replacement. Based on the installed capacity of 920,000 mt/year of nickel alloy, the newly added iron-making capacity is 2.13 million mt/year and steel-making capacity is 3.22 million mt/year. The main products include high-quality special steel, 300 series and 400 series stainless steel. 

The construction includes main works, public and auxiliary works, etc. 

Main project: 360 ㎡ sintering machine*1, 2,500 ㎥ blast furnace*1, 150 mt converter*1, 120 mt AOD furnaces*2, high-quality special steel production line, 300 series production line*1, and 400 series stainless steel production line*1. 

Supporting works: Newly built B-type raw material yard*1, ECIA-type raw material yard*1, lime kilns with a daily output of 600/mt*1, converter gas tank of 80,000 ㎥ *1, central water treatment plant*1 and other supporting public and auxiliary facilities. An existing 100,000 ㎥ blast furnace gas tank will be reconstructed into a 200,000 ㎥ blast furnace gas tank.
