Jiugang lowers May purchasing price for high-carbon ferrochrome

High-carbon ferrochrome output fell sharply amid power restrictions. The main production areas, including Inner Mongolia, Guangxi and Sichuan all have power curtailment.

According to customs statistics, China's imports of high-carbon ferrochrome were 152,500 mt in June 2021, a decrease of 98,100 mt or 39.15% from the previous month, and down 74,200 mt or 32.73% on the year.

On February 4, Inner Mongolia Ministry of Industry and Information Technology implemented a differential electricity price policy in accordance with national regulations on the industries of aluminium, iron alloy, calcium carbide, sodium hydroxide, cement, steel, yellow phosphorus and zinc smelting.
