China’s imports of high-carbon ferrochrome fell 98,100 mt on month

According to customs statistics, China's imports of high-carbon ferrochrome were 152,500 mt in June 2021, a decrease of 98,100 mt or 39.15% from the previous month, and down 74,200 mt or 32.73% on the year.

SHANGHAI, Jul 21 (SMM) - According to customs statistics, China's imports of high-carbon ferrochrome were 152,500 mt in June 2021, a decrease of 98,100 mt or 39.15% from the previous month, and down 74,200 mt or 32.73% on the year.

Among them, the import volume from South Africa was 36,000 mt, a decrease of 98,500 or 73.23% mt from the previous month, and a year-on-year decrease of 80,400 mt or 69.1%.

The import volume from Kazakhstan was 56,300 mt, an increase of 36,100 or 178.36% from May, but down 17,800 mt or 24.07% year on year.

From January to June 2021, imports of high-carbon ferrochrome totalled 1.57 million mt, up 57,700 mt or 3.82% year on year.

The high-carbon ferrochrome imports from South Africa totalled 781,520 mt, a year-on-year decrease of 57,180 mt or 6.82%.

China's imports of chrome ore were 1.22 million mt in June 2021, a decrease of 216,100 mt or 17.85% from the previous month, but an increase of 434,500 mt or 54.99% on the year.

Among them, the chrome ore import volume from South Africa was 1.10 million mt, a decrease of 109,300 mt or 9.07% mt from May, but a year-on-year increase of 558,300 mt or 104.01%.

Chrome ore imports totalled 7.77 million mt from January to June 2021, up 914,800 mt or 13.34% year on year, among which 6.36 million mt came from South Africa, up 651,400 mt ore 11.41% from the same period last year.
