Chile’s state-owned copper smelter hit by a strike

Operations at Chilean state-owned copper smelter Hernan Videla Lira has been suspended due to a strike, according to the miner Enami.

SHANGHAI, Dec14 (SMM)-Operations at Chilean state-owned copper smelter Hernan Videla Lira has been suspended due to a strike, according to the miner Enami.

Located in the copper rich region Atacama, the smelter is able to process 340,000 mt of raw materials and it produced 84,516 mt of copper anodes last year.
