Iron Ore Arrivals Expected to Fall, SMM Foresees

Arrivals of iron ore at major China’s 24 ports are expected to reach 12.78 million tonnes from Aug. 17-31, down 4.8 per cent.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 21 (SMM) – Arrivals of iron ore at major China’s 24 ports are expected to reach 12.78 million tonnes from Aug. 17-31, down 640,000 tonnes or 4.8 per cent from 13.42 million tonnes seen from Aug. 10-24, according to SMM data. 

Over the period, ore outward shipments from Australia are estimated to fall slightly, and those from Brazil to inch up.
