Development Test of Hydrogen-enriched Smelting Technology of Blast Furnace was Completed in Changli, Hebei

According to Hebei Daily, recently, Shanghai University and Changli County Dongwen Precise Machine Parts Co., Ltd. jointly completed the first development test of hydrogen-enriched smelting technology of blast furnace with pure hydrogen as blowing gas source in China.

SHANGHAI, Mar 25 (SMM) - According to Hebei Daily, recently, Shanghai University and Changli County Dongwen Precise Machine Parts Co., Ltd. jointly completed the first development test of hydrogen-enriched smelting technology of blast furnace with pure hydrogen as blowing gas source in China. In the test, the system runs normally, and the relevant data reach the expected standard. This technology has achieved the goal of "reducing coke ratio by more than 10%, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 10% and increasing iron output by more than 13%", and gained valuable experience in the large-scale safe use of hydrogen in iron and steel production. By means of oxygen-enriched hydrogen injection and charging control, the problem of coupling and coordination between hydrogen-enriched blast furnace and the traditional ironmaking process is solved. Hydrogen is injected into a metallurgical blast furnace to ensure that the furnace temperature can still meet the metallurgical requirements when the hydrogen and iron ore undergo redox reaction (endothermic cooling).

At the development and test site of hydrogen-enriched smelting technology of blast furnace of Changli County Dongwen Precise Machine Parts Co., Ltd. in Qinhuangdao, Zhou Guocheng, the general manager of the company, said that the test blast furnace was cooling down, and it was ready to dissect the blast furnace, analyze internal changes and collect relevant test data, so as to do basic work for comprehensive promotion.
