SHANGHAI, Jul. 6 (SMM) – China’s GEM Co. is expected to produce 30,000 tonnes of battery materials in 2016, the company announced on July 5.
Of the 30,000 tonnes of battery materials, mainly including cobalto-cobaltic oxide and Li(NiCoMn)O2 etc, cobalto-cobaltic oxide will account for 10,000 tonnes, which will be applied to batteries used in digital electronic products. The remaining battery materials will be applied to motive batteries used in electric vehicles.
GEM is committed to recycle “urban mining” resources, including used batteries, WEEE, ELVs, and rare metals wastes such as cobalt, nickel and tungsten.
