Nickel ore inventories at China’s major ports were down sharply last week, SMM survey finds.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 25 (SMM) – Nickel ore inventories at China’s major ports were down sharply last week, SMM survey finds.

According to SMM data, nickel ore inventories at six major Chinese ports were 8.84 million tonnes last week, down 680,000 tonnes on a weekly basis.

“The sharp decline at port inventories is due mainly to pick-ups by domestic NPI producers,” SMM nickel analyst points out.
