LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels advanced to above 1,000 points mainly due to strong activity in both the Atlantic and Pacific basins.
The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, up by 117 points or 12.02 percent to 1090 points on Tuesday.
The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
