Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange rises to 753 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities rose on Tuesday mainly due to gains made by the capesize segment.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities rose on Tuesday mainly due to gains made by the capesize segment.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, up by 14 points to 753 points on Tuesday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
