Main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange declines to 560 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities declined on Thursday due to the extended weaker demand for bigger vessels.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for ships carrying dry bulk commodities declined on Thursday due to the extended weaker demand for bigger vessels.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, down by 5 points to 560 points on Thursday.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
