The highest output during May was achieved by Germany. Germany produced 3.922 Million tonnes during the month, which is considerably higher by 7.3% compared to the country’s output of 3.654 Million tonnes during May 2013.
The lowest output was by Croatia. The total crude steel output by Croatia surged 232.2% higher from 6,000 tonnes in May 2013 to 20,000 tonnes in May this year. On a year-on-year basis, Croatia recorded the biggest increase in production.
Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and the UK recorded increased year-on-year crude steel production. France recorded biggest drop in production, falling by 4% from 1.424 million tonnes to 1.366 million tonnes.
