Sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels advance further to 977 points

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels advanced further to 977 points on Thursday as rates for capesize vessels climbed.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels advanced further to 977 points on Thursday as rates for capesize vessels climbed.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, rose 18 points, or 1.88 percent, to 977 points.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
