NEW YORK (Scrap Monster): The US H1 scrap price averaged at $375.17 per long ton, as on 7th April, 2014. The H1 scrap prices had remained flat for three straight weeks prior to this. It is for the first time in past 3 months that the average price has gone higher.
The average price of US H1 scrap in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Philadelphia was $375.17 per long ton, rising $13.34 per long ton from the previous week.
The H1 scrap average price in Pittsburg was $399.5 per long ton. The average price increased from the previous week by $20 per long ton. In Chicago the prices averaged at $387.50 per long ton, rising $10 per long ton. The average price in Philadelphia was $338.5 per long ton. The prices here saw an increase of $10 per long ton over the previous week.
The H1 prices averaged at $282.5 per long ton in New York, Houston and Boston. The average prices were up by $10 when compared with those during the previous week.
