According to SMM’s most recent survey of domestic aluminum plate, sheet, strip and foil producers, 50% reported a decline in finished goods inventories.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 10 (SMM) – According to SMM’s most recent survey of domestic aluminum plate, sheet, strip and foil producers, 50% reported a decline in finished goods inventories, 30% saw little changes and the rest 20% posted an increase. Finished goods inventories were 43.02% in November, down 9.2% from October’s 52.22%.

Producers began to aggressively scale back inventories due to tight liquidity at the year’s end and mounting finished goods inventories at producers. The processing fees of major aluminum semis were down. Rising sales volumes and revenues, and falling inventories were accompanied by declining profits.
