SMM learns that 76% Chinese copper plate/sheet, strip and foil producers expect orders to stabilize in August, SMM reckons.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 22 (SMM) – SMM learns that 76% Chinese copper plate/sheet, strip and foil producers expect orders to stabilize in August, SMM reckons.

Consumption from household appliance and mechanical manufacturing sectors is modest and demand in the off-season is not that poor this year.

19% market players predict that orders will increase in August. Cash strain problem at some producers will likely be addressed in the month with the producers engaged in financing projects. Also, electronic industries are in peak season in August, which will bolster demand for copper plates/sheets.

The remaining 5% investors believe that orders will fall in August citing domestic sluggish economy.
