SHANGHAI, Dec. 5 (SMM) --
Alumina:
According to the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA), China’s alumina output was 2.67 million mt during October, up 18.39% YoY. YTD output through October was 28.78 million mt, up 19.66% YoY. Alumina output fell due to weakening demand.
Aluminum:
According to the CNIA, China’s aluminum output was 1.49 million mt during October, up 15.51% YoY, but down slightly MoM. Annualized capacity of October output was 17.55 million mt, down 1.68 million mt from September.
Aluminum Semis:
According to the CNIA, China’s output of aluminum semis was 2.08 million mt during October, up 14.62% YoY. Based on SMM survey results and spot market conditions, aluminum semis output has begun to decline, so SMM predicts the growth of output will continue to slow in November.
