SHANGHAI, Sept. 19 (SMM) -- The US dollar index dipped to 80.872 last Friday, driving LME zinc prices higher to break the USD 2,200/mt mark and to hit USD 2,205/mt. However, LME zinc prices fell later due to a stronger US dollar index, and finally closed at USD 2,150/mt, with prices failing to hold steady at the USD 2,200/mt mark. Trading volumes fell continuously by 4,000 lots to 28,932 lots, while positions increased by 2,000 lots to 220,000 lots.
