China Galvanizing Output Seen Rising in 2015

SHANGHAI, Oct. 29 (SMM) - The output of galvanized products should increase in China in 2015, thanks to accelerated infrastructure construction and B&R policy, said Huang Huang, Chief Representative for China of the International Zinc Association (IZA), at the China Zinc Oxide Trade Meeting 2015 Zinc Price Forecast Meeting, SMM reports.

“Despite slower GDP growth in China, China’s input in infrastructure construction has been increasing, and this will help boost the galvanizing industry,”said Huang.

Domestic capacity of galvanized structural parts exceeded 28 million tpy in 2014, with output over 18 million tonnes. There were some 200 galvanized tube/pipe producers in China last year, whose capacity totaled 22 million tpy, and their real output totaled 15 million tonnes. These producers are located in Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
