SMM Morning Review - 2010/8/10 Zinc Market

SHANGHAI, Aug. 10 (SMM) -- The Fed's Open Market Committee will be held soon. Investors were cautious since base metals lacked a clear direction. LME zinc prices hit a record high of USD 2,175/mt since May 13th yesterday, and finally ended at USD 2,150/mt. China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the details of the facilities and company names for elimination of inefficient capacity, with the affected zinc capacity of 293.7 kt/yr, and SMM predicts this policy will help support SHFE zinc prices in the short term.
