SHANGHAI, July 1 -- Mine production of tin-in-concentrates in Peru was 2,909 tonnes in May, down 5% compared to the same month of last year, according data released by the country's Ministry of Mines and Energy at the start of this week.
Taking the latest official figures, ITRI calculates that Peru's mine production in the first five months of this year amounted to 15,279 tonnes, almost exactly the same as the 15,281 tonnes produced in the corresponding period of 2009. Meanwhile refined tin output in the year to date fell 1.3% year-on-year to 15,167 tonnes. All of Peru's production is by Minsur SA.
