SHANGHAI, May 26 -- China's largest ferronickel plant has begun trial production in the city of Fengzhen, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the state-run China National Radio reported Tuesday.
The plant is expected to produce 160,000 metric tons of ferronickel and 1 million tons of ferroalloy products a year, CNR said.
Construction of the ferronickel plant began last September, while work on the ferroalloy plant will begin next May, it said.
