SHANGHAI, Jan. 20 -- Michigan state regulators have given the go-ahead to Kennecott Eagle Minerals Co. to build a nickel-copper mine in the state's Upper Peninsula, leaving just one environmental hurdle to clear.
Kennecott Eagle Minerals Co., Ltd found the nickel-copper reserve in 2003, and the company had been making efforts to persuade the government to approve the license for the development of the mine during those 7 years.
It is expected the mine reserves 0.25-0.3 billion lbs nickel and 0.2 billion lbs copper.
