Recycling Industry Events This Week (September. 15-19)

This week's recycling industry events.

【Inner Mongolia Launches Integrated Waste Battery Project】

An integrated waste battery utilization project has been launched in Inner Mongolia. Recently, the People's Government of Horqin Right Wing Front Banner in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region released the first environmental impact assessment announcement for a waste battery comprehensive utilization project. The project will be located within a designated industrial park in the banner. The planned construction includes a complete system featuring one battery echelon utilization production line, one waste lithium battery crushing, pyrolysis, and sorting production line, and one waste photovoltaic panel recycling and processing production line, along with corresponding auxiliary facilities.

【50,000-Ton Retired Power Battery Recycling Project Starts in Anhui】

A 50,000-metric-ton per year recycling project for retired power batteries has been established in Anhui province. Recently, the Ecology and Environment Bureau of Lu'an City in Anhui Province officially released the pre-approval announcement for the environmental impact report of the project, signaling its imminent move into the substantive construction phase. Upon operation, the project is expected to process up to 50,000 metric tons of retired lithium batteries annually, effectively alleviating the environmental pressure caused by large quantities of waste batteries on the market.

【100,000-Ton Physical Recycling Plant Announced in Shandong Feicheng】

A 100,000-metric-ton physical recycling project for lithium batteries has attracted widespread industry attention in Feicheng, Shandong. The environmental impact report for the project has been published for consultation. The company will introduce five advanced waste lithium battery recycling production lines and two specialized recycling lines for processing waste lithium battery electrode sheets. Once operational, the project will possess the capacity to handle 70,000 metric tons of waste lithium battery materials and 30,000 metric tons of waste electrode sheets annually.

【Ganzhou Upgrades 30,000-Ton Battery Recycling Line with Advanced Crushing】

A major technical upgrade for a 30,000-metric-ton waste lithium battery recycling project is underway in Ganzhou, Jiangxi. The local administrative examination and approval bureau has announced its intent to approve the environmental impact assessment documents for the technical renovation project. With a total investment of 8.8 million yuan, the upgraded production line will be equipped with two fully enclosed crushing systems capable of processing charged batteries.

【Zhejiang Project to Recover Valuable Metals from Cathode Materials】

A 50,000-metric-ton lithium battery cathode material recycling project has been initiated in Zhejiang. The local ecology and environment bureau has officially accepted the environmental impact report for the project. This project will use scandium-containing slag, a by-product from an existing nickel production facility, as raw material. It will be constructed as an ancillary unit without altering the production processes of the main facility, highlighting the company's innovative approach to resource utilization.

【New 5,000-Ton Battery-Grade Lithium Carbonate Line Planned in Guizhou】

A 5,000-metric-ton battery-grade lithium carbonate project has been announced in Guizhou. An environmental impact assessment information disclosure was made for the project. The company plans to invest 22.45 million yuan to construct one production line with an annual capacity of 5,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate within an existing workshop at its base. This represents another strategic move by the company in the lithium carbonate sector, following the full capacity operation of a 10,000-metric-ton per year production line last year.

【Phase I of Power Battery 'Flash Crushing' Recycling Facility Advances in Jiangxi】

A power battery recycling project has been established in Ganzhou, Jiangxi. The local municipal government released information regarding the second environmental impact assessment announcement for the phase one of a flash-crushing recycling project. Driven by significant market demand, the company intends to invest 20 million yuan in this phase one project, which will focus on the recycling of waste lithium-ion power batteries, aiming to achieve an annual processing capacity of approximately 11,000 metric tons.

【Major 43,900-Ton Lithium Battery Recycling Plant Under Construction】

Significant progress has been made on a lithium battery recycling project with an annual capacity exceeding 40,000 metric tons. With an investment of 430 million yuan, construction began in April on a project covering an area of approximately 148,400 square meters. The project will include workshops for dismantling, reaction refining, synthesis, evaporation crystallization, and purification of waste lithium batteries, along with related auxiliary facilities. Upon completion, the company's waste battery processing capacity will triple, enabling the recycling of 43,900 metric tons of waste power lithium batteries annually.

【30,000-Ton/Year Retired Battery Utilization Project Breaks Ground in Shandong】

A comprehensive utilization project for 30,000 metric tons of retired lithium batteries per year has been launched in Shandong. Details of the project were disclosed recently. The project will utilize existing factory buildings to construct the facility, with a total investment of 110 million yuan. The planned construction includes two waste battery echelon utilization dismantling lines, one PACK assembly line, and two waste lithium iron phosphate battery regeneration lines.
