Recycling Industry Events This Week (August. 18-22)

This week's recycling industry events.

【A 40,000-ton lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode material project is planned】The project owner is a core enterprise of the new energy sector of a leading tungsten company. The total investment of the project is approximately 3 billion yuan, with a planned annual production capacity of 40,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode material. The construction and production timeline is set for completion and operation in 2026.

【An 860,000-ton fine phosphorus-based new material project announced】The project is located in the Yichang Baiyang Industrial Park and will be constructed in three phases. The first phase includes mineral processing, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, industrial-grade monoammonium phosphate, powdered monoammonium phosphate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, phosphogypsum, and supporting facilities. The second phase involves food-grade phosphoric acid and supporting facilities, while the third phase includes lithium iron phosphate and supporting facilities.

【A 50,000-ton lithium iron phosphate project (modification) planning scheme announced】The project name is the adjusted planning scheme for the annual 50,000-ton lithium iron phosphate project (modification) of a Shandong-based technology company and the construction project planning permit for the No. 11 lithium iron phosphate production facility pre-approval announcement. The announcement period is from June 27, 2025, to July 3, 2025. The modifications to production facilities include the addition of new equipment: the cancellation of the original No. 9 raw material tank area D (1,160 m²) and No. 10 liquid caustic soda tank area (453.59 m²), which are replaced by the No. 11 lithium iron phosphate production facility. The cancelled tank areas will be relocated to the "Raw Material Tank Area Modification Project" with no change in the area.

【Two comprehensive recycling production lines for waste lithium batteries under construction】Recently, the People's Government of Yingcheng City, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province, officially released the first environmental impact assessment information announcement for the "Waste Lithium Battery Comprehensive Recycling Project of a Hubei-based recycling technology company." The project is located in the Hubei Yingcheng Economic Development Zone, Yingcheng City, Xiaogan City, Hubei Province. It plans to construct a variety of facilities, including crushing and sorting workshops, leaching workshops, extraction workshops, and evaporation crystallization workshops.

【A 10,000-ton power battery second-life use project is coming】Recently, the relevant website released the first public participation announcement for the environmental impact assessment of the "Power Battery Project of a Hunan-based energy technology company." The total investment of the project is 30 million yuan, and it is located in the High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Qionghu Street, Yuanjiang City, Yiyang City, Hunan Province. The project includes a variety of construction, such as production workshops, battery pack warehouses, second-life use battery cell warehouses, second-life use finished product warehouses, and auxiliary rooms like offices. Its design capacity is considerable, with an annual processing capacity of 10,000 tons of retired power batteries, producing approximately 7,723.31 tons per year of second-life use energy storage products. This includes a total weight of 6,012 tons of second-life use battery cells, equivalent to approximately 406,490 second-life use products.

【A 300,000-ton waste power battery project commenced construction】Recently, the highly anticipated Power Battery High-Value Utilization Zero-Carbon Factory project officially started construction in the park. The total investment of the project is as high as 3.2 billion yuan, with a planned land area of 380 mu. It has strong processing capacity, capable of handling 300,000 tons of waste power batteries annually, and producing 20,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate, 100,000 tons of recycled battery-grade lithium iron phosphate, and other various new energy materials.

【An annual 300,000-ton lithium iron phosphate project announced】The Liuzhi Special Zone annual 300,000-ton lithium iron phosphate project is invested in and constructed by a Guizhou-based new energy technology company, with a total investment of 6 billion yuan. It plans to construct an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of new power and energy storage lithium iron phosphate materials in three phases. This is a key project for the local area, focusing on the main strategy of "Four New Initiatives" and "Four Modernizations" to promote major industrial breakthroughs.
