After the Mid-Autumn Festival, spot silicon metal prices continued to fluctuate rangebound. As of September 19, the ex-factory prices for above-standard #553 silicon metal in east China were 11,700-11,800 yuan/mt, flat WoW. The prices for 441# silicon metal were 11,800-12,000 yuan/mt, flat WoW. The prices for 421# silicon metal (for silicone) were 12,600-12,800 yuan/mt, flat WoW. The prices for 3303# silicon metal were 12,600-12,700 yuan/mt, flat WoW. Silicon metal enterprises' quotations remained largely stable, with downstream orders showing mixed performance. Aluminum-silicon alloy and silicone users were cautious about new orders, while polycrystalline silicon and grinding enterprises gradually released new orders.
Operating rates for polysilicon enterprises remained stable. After the holiday, orders for powder and silicon lumps began to be negotiated and signed, with polycrystalline silicon tender prices rising by 100-300 yuan/mt compared to the previous round. Grinding enterprises also made purchases around 9,500-9,600 yuan/mt.
Operating rates for silicone enterprises fluctuated slightly. Some silicone monomer plants reported that pre-National Day stocking was mostly completed, with only minor replenishments needed.
Operating rates for aluminum alloy enterprises remained stable, with most alloy plants having some stocking demand before the National Day.
