The price of silicon coal in Ningxia continues to soften [SMM Silicon Daily Review]

On September 6, the price of silicon metal in east China stayed stable. Standard 553# silicon metal was at 11,400-11,500 yuan/mt; above-standard 553# silicon metal was at 11,700-11,800 yuan/mt; 421# silicon metal was at 12,000-12,200 yuan/mt. Recently, the price of silicon coal in Ningxia has slightly declined again. This is due to multiple factors, including recent consecutive price adjustments by Shandong Energy, recent production cuts and furnace shutdowns by some silicon metal manufacturers in south-west China, and the continued weakening of expected demand for silicon coal procurement. As a result, the price of silicon coal from other washing plants in Ningxia has also slightly softened. Silicon coal prices continue to run at a low level. Currently, the ex-factory price of mixed silicon coal from washing plants in Ningxia is around 1,270-1,300 yuan/mt, and the ex-factory price of granular silicon coal is around 1,550-1,570 yuan/mt.
