Atlantic Lithium Suspends Operations at Ewoyaa Project After Fatality

On 10 July, Atlantic Lithium reported operations suspension at its Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Ghana, following a fatal accident during the operation on July 9.

On 10 July, Atlantic Lithium reported operations suspension at its Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Ghana, following a fatal accident during the operation on July 9. On 12 July, the Company followed up by announcing the site had been released back to Atlantic Lithium by investigating authority and operations were authorised to recommence.

The project is expected to produce 340,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate over 12 years. In the first quarter this year, Atlantic Lithium progressed an offtake partnership process with Piedmont Lithium for the JV portion of the offtake from Ewoyaa. Half of the lithium will be sent to the United States for lithium hydroxide conversion.
