According to SMM survey, as of Thursday April 11, the total zinc ingot inventory in seven regions in China was 211,000 mt, an increase of 11,500 mt from April 3, and an increase of 1,500 mt from April 8.

According to SMM survey, as of Thursday April 11, the total zinc ingot inventory in seven regions in China was 211,000 mt, an increase of 11,500 mt from April 3, and an increase of 1,500 mt from April 8. Inventories in Shanghai increased during the week, mainly due to the influx of imported zinc ingots into Shanghai warehouses. Downstream companies were cautious in purchasing against high prices. Inventories in Guangdong increased. Shipments arrivals in warehouses were normal during the week. After the Qingming Festival, downstream companies replenished stocks on demand. Subsequently, zinc prices rose sharply, resulting in a decrease in downstream purchases. Inventories in Tianjin increased. After the festival, downstream companies mainly purchased as required amid high zinc prices. Inventories in Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin rose 1,400 mt.
