SHANGHAI, Sep 28 (SMM) - According to the customs data compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), in August 2022, the import and export value of automobile commodities increased to varying degrees compared with the previous month and the same period last year.
In August, the total import and export value of auto commodities was $22.67 billion, up 4.4% month-on-month and 20.4% year-on-year. Among them, the import value stood at $7.45 billion, up 4.1% MoM and 5.9% YoY, and the export value amounted to $15.22 billion, up 4.6% month-on-month and 29.1% year-on-year.
From January to August, the value of imports and exports totalled $161.4 billion, up 10.3% on the year. Among them, the import value was $61.2 billion, down 6.7% on the month, and the export value was $100.2 billion, up 24.1% on the year.
