SHANGHAI, Jun 1 (SMM) - The Baltic Dry Index rose for the fourth straight month, but posted a sixth straight day of declines, up 6.7% in May.

SHANGHAI, Jun 1 (SMM) - The Baltic Dry Index rose for the fourth straight month, but posted a sixth straight day of declines, up 6.7% in May. The capesize index rose 24.9% in May. The average daily earnings for capesize vessels rose $610 to $22,126. The panamax index fell 2.2% in May. The average daily earnings for panamax vessels fell $633 to $25,860. The Supramax index rose 0.3% in May.
